On 11/1/09, Dori and Erica ran a Half-Marathon right here in Raleigh. It poured *all* day, and was miserable and cold, but they soldiered on!

I took my new Canon 100mm macro lens out to the NC Botanical Gardens recently, and was delighted with some of the results (despite hand holding all the shots).

Dori and I went out to Ocracoke (part of the NC Outer Banks) for a short weekend getaway. The beaches there were wonderful.

Our friends Mara and Daniel came to visit for the weekend, and one of our stops was the lovely Duke Gardens.

We had a very last minute BBQ for the 4th of July, and it was a success! It was also our first formal BBQ with our new grill.

Dori and I hosted a huge Passover seder, our first ever, with 15 friends attending. It was quite a success, with many different people pitching in for food, chairs, and even extra tables!

We took a short trip to Fearrington Village, home of a farm with belted cows. This was a great opportunity for me to play with my new ultra-wide lens, and get some big-sky shots.

Dori and I went hiking at Eno River, a lovely park about 30 minutes away from Chapel Hill. The sky was mostly gray and the colors were very uniform so I opted to shoot in B&W for the day, as a little experiment.

For Thanksgiving, Dori and I made leeks as our contribution to the "refugee potluck" we attended. It was fun, but the house still smells a little oniony!
